Legal guarantee in the European Union
EU consumer purchases of goods have a legal guarantee lasting at least two years. National rules may provide a longer period. For used goods, an agreed shorter period cannot be less than one year.
If goods do not match their description or work as intended, contact the seller promptly and provide proof of purchase. Sellers are responsible for a lack of conformity present at delivery that becomes apparent during the guarantee period.
Available remedies include repair or replacement at no charge and, in certain cases, a price reduction or refund. Commercial guarantees offered by a seller or producer are separate from these legal rights.
The GARAN label identifies a producer's commercial durability guarantee covering the whole product at no additional cost.
Consult the official notice above and Your Europe for the rules in the relevant country.
