Packaging a wine bottle as a gift: five design ideas

A bottle can be personally supplied with a simple case or decorative box. Plan the design so that the gift can be safely grasped and easily opened. The bottle brings a comparatively high weight to a small area. A beautiful presentation must therefore be stable and must not be worn by grinding, paper or unsecured handles alone.

Box, bottle bag or matching wooden box

The first option is a suitable bottle box with a suitable insert. It keeps the bottle clearly in place and offers a free space for a trailer. Secondly, you can use a bottle bag for this purpose. Check its floor and grip fastening as well as the load specifications. Wear the bag from below in case of uncertainty.

Thirdly, a matching decorative wooden box is suitable. Check the inner surface on splitters and check whether the lid or closures work. For several bottles, separation elements are needed so that glass does not bump into glass. The box must not open when lifting. However, a decorative container is not automatically suitable for shipping as the sole outer packaging.

Paper cover and banderole as two other ideas

Fourthly, you can insert the bottle into a perfectly tailored sheet of paper. Close the case with little material and make sure that the bottom of the bottle remains level. The paper is loosely brought together on the shoulder. A tight tape can damage the paper and is not a handle on which the bottle should be worn.

Fifthly, you can design the existing bottle packaging with a banderole and a trailer. Thus the construction is preserved, while a personal greeting is added. If possible, glue the decoration onto the case instead of directly onto a label that the recipient wants to keep. Large protruding parts interfere with wearing and often do not fit into an additional protective box.

Distinguish personal handover and parcel shipment

Check the finished packaging for stability and a readily accessible opening. Decorative filling paper can complement the presentation, but should not replace the required fixation of a heavy glass bottle. When several gifts are packaged together, keep hard items separate from the bottle. A slight movement must not lead to audible attacks.

For shipping, you need a protective packaging suitable for bottles and must comply with the acceptance conditions of the selected transport service. A bottle bag or paper case alone is not enough.
