Transparent foil makes the content of a gift packaging visible and holds several small objects together visually. In trade, the term cellophane is often used. However, it is not a clear indication of material for each offer. Therefore, check the product description: A transparent gift film can be made of different materials and behave differently when folding, closing and disposing.
Check the material designation before purchase
Genuine cellophane is a film based on regenerated cellulose. For example, transparent plastic films are offered as gift films. The material cannot be reliably determined from colour, noise or transparency. The name on the product data sheet is more meaningful. Coatings can create additional properties and influence later recovery.
Do not derive a flat-rate compostability from a plant base. A transparent film is also not automatically suitable for direct food contact. If you want to pack pastries, sweets or other food, you will need a designated packaging under the intended terms of use. A decorative wrapping may complement a suitable inner packaging, but not replace it untested.
Choose format and closure suitable for presentation
A foil sheet is suitable for wrapping a gift box or a small basket. Prepared bags can be easier for uniform small products. Select the format so that there is enough material to close at the opening. A very tight shell tightens on edges, while excessive foil covers the contents and creates unnecessary volume.
A ribbon, a paper banderole or a closure suitable for the material can be used for decorative closing. Not every foil can be welded with any device. Please note the processing details and test the closure on a small remaining piece. Sharp objects and protruding corners require an additional, suitable protective layer so that they do not damage the shell.
Distinguishing decorative cover and protective packaging
The transparent case is designed to arrange the presentation and protect it from simple contact. It is not upholstery for glass and not sufficient outer packaging for a parcel shipment. A gift with several parts should already be stable inside. A suitable outer box, suitable fixation and a cleanly readable shipping label are included for shipping.
Keep undamaged film remains dry if they are suitable for a later gift. Separate tapes, trailers and other materials after unpacking. For the disposal, the actual material and the local assembly rules are decisive. A simple design with easy-to-solve closures facilitates this separation and makes the packaged objects at the same time more visible.
